:slap: Winterseed in Las Vegas? :slap:

Close but not quite. 32 degrees at dawn Saturday setting up the range.

It was a brisk weekend for desert dwellers not used to temperatures in the 30's/40's with gray overcast skies. But Riflemen persist.

Some new and old faces gathered at the Clark County Shooting range to share  a weekend  immersion into Rifle Marksmanship and American Heritage.

Dave was a return visitor from the first Nevada Appleseed in 2007. It was good to have him back on the line and we are hope it won't be four years before we see him again. His seven stepping brought Range Rat and his family to their first Appleseed. That's quite a legacy in that it added one green hat, three red hats and an orange hat to the Southern Nevada Team. One person can make a difference.

Matt, a returning Rifleman, spent the weekend refining and maintaining his skills. Persisted through equipment issues and even helped instruct by modeling one of the best standing positions I've seen.

Spartan24 and his new bride, April, made a surprise appearance on Saturday after a short detour from the Appleseed tour to get married.  Spartan brought his Orange Hat and April brought her Rifle. April came back on Sunday and is knocking on the 210 door.  Santa won't need leave a bottle of persistence under her tree as she demonstrates it at every event.

Two Families shared the line and brought Fayth and Carlos, the next generation of Riflemen.

The Fundamentals of Marksmanship were taught.

The Heritage was shared.

Red Coats, Squares, AQT's and Evil Tv's were targeted by ever improving Rifle Fire. :~ :~ :~

Evil TV Contest was won by Tony on a tie breaker. Who earned a copy of the country's owners manual.

The wind picked up Sunday Afternoon. And when the dust settled.

Two Riflemen stepped forward and demonstrated that they knew what they were about.
And in a Las Vegas first. It was a Father/Son duo.

Hallmark needs to make a card for moments like this.

Congrats to Vegas Caveman for his promotion to IIT2. O0

As the sun set Sunday on the last Nevada Appleseed of 2011. The students drove away, their heads spinning with instruction and heritage.

The instructors reflected on a year that saw a record number of events. This was a year of growth for Southern Nevada Appleseed. A year of hard work and earned promotions. We now have a team of seasoned instructors and the next generation climbing the ranks. Instructors and Riflemen are made by other Instructors and Riflemen. Thank you all those that contributed to this years progressions.

Happy Holidays to all who shared the Appleseed experience with us this year.

And looking forward to an excellent 2012.

^:)^ Mark January 28th on your Calendar as the first event of 2012 is only 45 days away. ^:)^
One Man awake, Awakens another. The second awakens  His next-door brother.
The three awake can rouse a town. By turning the whole place upside down.

The many awake can make such a fuss. It finally awakens the rest of us.
