Friends,

This was a peculiar shoot. The weather was mild and spring like (low 30's to mid 40's or so) both days. We had three shooters, two of which were Red Hats who just wanted to shoot for a change, and three instructors (including the SB) to conduct the event.

Things went along quite nicely. No time monkey issues. The 'new' shooter had been to an Appleseed previously, so was pretty much up to speed on what we were doing. However, as luck would have it, every time he started closing in on Rifleman consistency, he was plagued by a series of equipment problems that sort of complicated his quest for the patch. He took it all in stride and though he wasn't able to make the 210 this time, he will persist and be back again soon.

The two RH's both were polished up enough to repeat a number of Riflemen scores. Nice work!

One of the range officers brought his .300 Ultra Mag to the range, and let each of us take one shot at hitting the gong at 550. He had it on a lead sled so as to not intimidate any one. Not exactly AS riflery, but everyone enjoyed the opportunity to shoot something different.

All in all, a real nice shoot, but we are looking forward to having fuller lines at future events.

Best regards,
Reformed Redneck
