Attention South Dakota Appleseeders!  Your Husker neighbors just got the final confirmations on a September  Instructor Boot Camp and got it posted to the schedule.  It will be a fantastic weekend and we've confirmed space on the 300 yd range on Sunday to run a lesson on how to instruct KD comeups and ballistics.  Come on down and join us!  Here are the details:

Range: Lincoln Izaak Walton League

Address: 10811 S. 134th St. Bennet, NE 68917

Website: http://www.lincolnikes.org

When: September 18/19, 2010

Camping available: Not at the range.  Branched Oak Lake State Recreation Area and Pawnee Lake State Recreation Area are both located Northwest of Lincoln.

Hotels: Holiday Inn Express (402-423-1176), AmericInn Lodge (800-634-3444), Residence Inn (402-423-1555), Hampton Inn (402-420-7800) are all available in Lincoln, approx 5 miles away.

Directions: The range is located approximately 4 miles southeast of Lincoln, NE.  From Lincoln, take Highway 2 east approximately 4 miles and turn south on 134th St.  The range is approximately half a mile south and on the west side of 134th St.  The Lincoln Izaak Walton League range will be on your right side.  Ranges are visible from the road and drive is marked with a Club sign.

GPS: 40°42'10", -96°32'24"

Misc: We have reserved some room on the 300 yd range on Sunday to show instructors how to teach KD comeups and ballistics, so bring a centerfire rifle with 100 rounds.  In addition to the KD lesson, there will be hands-on demonstrations with training rifles.  If you own a unique or unusual rifle, feel free to bring it along for the mock firing line training exercises.

Anyone who has been offered and/or accepted an orange hat can attend an IBC. There is a $70 fee for the first IBC you attend.  Attendees must complete the IBC and then work a shoot. The IBC Instructor and the following shoot Instructor will decide their IIT level based upon performance and skills demonstrated.  See . http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=10615 for official IBC information & policy.  Bring a current Final Instructor Manual, paper, and pen/pencil.

*Update*
The IBC is going to have to be rescheduled.  I'm kinda bummed, but I want to make sure you guys get a heads up and don't make the long drive in this weekend.  There are several people who originally committed to the dates, but have had schedule conflicts come up for this weekend.   We only have 3 IITs signed up, which is less than the minimum requirement of 4 and much less than what I had hoped to have with all of the NE IITs and a couple from surrounding states.  I apologize if you planned on joining us this weekend.  I'll get a new date confirmed and post to your state board once it's on the schedule.
