Mas, as he is called (like the abrev for the state), has been "threatening" to attend an event for some time. He even registered once, but was called away to testify in a murder trial as an expert witness.
I were nervous about his presence in the past, but this time I refused to allow myself to get too worked up - so of course he showed up! He and Gail Pepin were just regular folks - the attendees never even noticed as the two of them worked it out on the line along with all the rest.
I found him to be good student, which speaks volumes considering his level of knowledge. Like the rest, he learnt some things, and told us so - proof positive that Applseeds has something to offer even the most experienced shooter. I found his article to be well balanced and frankly more accurate in certain areas than others. His ability to glean the essence of Appleseeds is a testament to his attention to detail and his ability as an author.
As to back-patting - many thanks for the kind words Fred - truly, but we have little time for that. As Mas stated, the turnout was down 50% for this venue and that is a clear sign of our failure to get the word out properly. So after a brief grin of reflection, it's back to pressing our collective shoulders to the cart, lest it will surely roll backwards!
To the pumps - the water's rising!
