Good show tonight
 thumbsup

Sam, I could not agree more. This had to be one of the best shows we have done and Chris Knox is sharp, and an amazingly dedicated professional. He is going to come back in a few months for another interview and I think everyone here would like to hear him speak again. He is planning on doing another story at the next Appleseed he attends in Arizona next month.

Having people on of the quality of Chris Knox is a plus for the radio show, for sure.

I am really glad he's agreed to come back in a relatively short period of time.

I suggest that growth of our radio audience will be such that he'll have an audience two or three times larger than the one last night.

Agreed!

And there are two audiences we need to grow:

  • Those new to the program.
  • Those already IN the program.

I have tried to push the radio show on other forums using the guest's name power + ours to draw people into coming.  The night of the JPFO I saw a handful of people I know were there from promotion, BUT it was no more than that.  This week I did not do anything for Chris and the numbers in the Chat room were low.  Thus lessons learned (Never let up!)

There has to be a way to get more unknowns to the radio show as well.  We advertise it side by side with normal advertising here in Indiana, but there needs to be more.  Is there a forum for amateur or small business radio groups?  Is the national broadcast gatherings useful to us in any way?  I dunno.

But, then funny thing is the lack of our own people coming to the Radio show.  I try to come every week now and I find it VERY useful as a way to keep anchored in the program.  Think of it as a church service, or AA meeting, or what have you, but it functions to keep my mind on the prize and out of the world of distractions.  As a SB it also works on keeping me looking at the big game and not just focussed on the next shoot.

I think 8-10 users in the chat room is nothing for Chris.  And double is still way too low.  I want to see at least 50+ next time.  So my preference, on this item is to see us double each month.  8-16-32-64.  He comes back in 3 months, we have 64 users in the chat room.  Period.

And that should not be hard to do.  Just gotta get there!

Out here in California I can't go there from work and by the time I get home its over.... I listen to the download.

My best line from Chris was "I've gotta feed my dog" sounds of cans being opened, etc, while he continued talking without missing a beat... Now there's a man with his priorities straight. Like these guys

I had not considered that!  It is 5 where you are when it starts?  Hmmm.  That is a challenge.

Two things from last night, on top of the problems mentioned by V of having the show start at five in CA. The email reminder from blogtalk would not accept any input so the three thousand emails I usually send out did not go out.

I have tried sending them out on my server and it slaps me down immediatly. Scuzzy is supposed to help me set up an independent system for show reminders but he is working on the forum upgrades and glitches right now.

The blogtalk system has several glitches in it anyway. Sends out ghosts, when I have to remove a name from the email list, I have to manually search out the name and remove it, and you would be surprised at how many people get ballistic about receiving an email from an organization dedicated to helping preserve their freedoms and liberties.

So if any of you guys have the tech savy to work this out and would like to become part of the radio show, let me know. PS- you can not be doing any other important Appleseed work for the program as while this is an important job, I don't want anyone packing this on top of their shooting jobs.

The second thing is the chat not opening for me at all last night. I started the chat program 20 minutes before 7:00 to see if the 7:00PM rush was the problem and the chat never opened. This is a blogtalk problem and I have a work order filed for it.

All this said, I have to repeat that this was probably the most professional show to date and we have guests starting to liine up for the show now so we will continue to bring listeners quality guests and programming. If you have someone you want to see as a guest on the show just PM me with their contact info and I will see about getting them on the show.
