Title: Bridgeville, DE March 31-April 1 2012
Post by: BeSwift on April 04, 2012, 10:08:56 AM
Saturday, 11 students stepped forward to kick off Delaware's FIRST EVER Appleseed! ^:)^ Morning drizzle turned to overcast skies just in time for the beginning of the shoot. Being that centerfire was allowed, many folks "border raided" from MD to have an opportunity to test their skills with a variety of centerfire rifles. A safe and fun shoot went off without a hitch, and 5 students earned their Rifleman designation! O0

Sunday, 9 shooters hit the line, including many who couldn't make Saturday. Weather cleared to sunny and mild skies, and could not have been any better. The welcome additions of two very young shooters, added some challenges, but these designated marksmen held their own for the entire day and did so safely. No new rifleman were added, but many of Saturdays students continued their run of scores above 210...

All in all, it was a great inaugural shoot, at a location with a ton of potential. We simply must keep the program going in Delaware, and I believe we've laid the groundwork to do so. Thanks to our host, all the instructors, and of course the students who made this event a success!    BeSwift

We were well taken care of by our Delaware hosts and during the shoot, other Bridgeville club members stopped by, expressed an interest and asked when the next Appleseed shoots would be held there.

The facilities at Bridgeville are a rifle shooter's dream.  Bridgeville also has an across the course 600yd high power range and a 1000yd range.

This is a promising start for a great facility.  Thanks to our Delaware hosts and everyone who participated.   ..:..
