Junior Birdman
I first started reading Shotgun News in 2005. Some guy named Fred was selling stocks and writing things that intrigued, infuriated, angered, saddedned and challenged me.
Soon enough I was the lone guy at the edge of the range, lying in the sun and rain, shooting at those little, tiny, agravating 1 inch squares. I was determined to place all 10 rounds in that square, and after gallons of sweat I did. My next challenge was the AQT. Fred issued the challenge every ten days, like clockwork.
At last I attended my first Appleseed and shot to Rifleman’s standards, thanks to all the reading, practice, and those nasty 1 inch squares.
But that wasn’t enough! There was a country out there in peril, and nobody was doing anythng to help. I determined to become an Instructor and hit the trail spreading seed accross the country.
In August of 2006 I attended the first RWVA Boot Camp and the die was cast. Since then I have spent my free time plying the fiendly skies to pay for my Appleseed habit.
At present I work behind the scenes as well as out on the trail to turn out as many RWVA Instructors as possible and to ensure the folks who attend an Appleseed event learn as much as possible.
